HOW DOES IT WORK

My name is Abby Falodun, founder of ROATL Foundation. A single mother of two wonderful children: Faith and Samuel Falodun. ROATL foundation was birthed as a result of an almost fatal accident sustained by my son, Samuel Falodun, while we were on family summer vacation, which resulted in traumatic brain injury (TBI) leaving him with weakness on his right side known as rt hemiparesis, right peripheral visual impairment / facial droop, rt foot drop and mild speech deficits. These complications have significantly improved after 10 years of dedicated, consistent and rigorous multiple therapies. Samuel has defiled all what the doctors, therapists and science says he would not do through the special grace of God. Prayer is the key factor here, this earned me the honor of being called a special needs mom; definitely grateful that he is not 6 feet under or totally dependent for all care. Today he is participating in competitive basketball activities and games, he is now being educated on how he can help encourage and provide transitional housing for physically challenged individuals like himself. This foundation is about turning all the negative, stressful and quite challenging experience into a very positive outlet and experience for others. “You can only witness and testify only if you have lived and witnessed the experience.” What an awesome God we serve.

As I brain storm on what God has given me to start this foundation in 2021; as if we did not have enough to deal with, a 360 degree life change and an unexpected family legal turmoil presented itself using my very smart, beautiful, gifted and, intelligent daughter; an aspiring art, multi media & stage production director, which led to her unexpected hospitalization due to anxiety attacks having realized what was happening to our faith based and Christ’ centered home and family. None of us thought anything of such could happen to us. I am sure no mother or father wants their family displaced from the comfort of their homes. Trust me it can happen anytime to any modest, middle class or even wealthy families in a twinkle of an eye. We must be willing to share our painful stories to save other families from that agony, and also to let families know its okay to be vulnerable and educative at the same time. Another period of dedicated fasting and prayers that God answered following lots of heartbreaks, pain, and forgiveness on all sides that took place before she returned home. An eye opening experience that can happen to any family if and when we take each other for granted or cross over that thing line of discipline all in the name of rescuing our adult children from making awkward decisions in life, but unacceptable according to united states rule of law. As a mother who has dedicated her life caring and providing my children, I was determined to come against every and anything that exalts itself above God’s plans for my children, joined by very close friends, pastors and family, persistent and consistent fasting, and intercession lead to breakthroughs. Grateful!

Having told you about my family encounter, I pray that you now know why this mission is very personal, crucial, and dear to my heart. So, let’s bind together and come through by providing beautiful and affordable transitional housing for all our young adults and adults physically and mentally challenged, post foster care, post sober or addiction rehabilitation, post incarceration rehabilitation and veterans that have served us and are now thrown out there to go fend for themselves without much help. We can make the world a better place one person at a time that we help get back on their feet. Help us reach our goal of opening a new home every 6 months to serve its purpose. Your donations will definitely change lives.
